Screenwriting team Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen are back with their first animated film, in which the latter voices a ‘fancy hotdog’ as he and the dog crew embark on a mission to return to the supermarket shelf after discovering their fourth of July fate.
Joined by other condiments and snacks, the trailer depicts an all-out cooking frenzy, as a cheerful Oirish spud has his skin mercilessly peeled off and, in a Saving Private Ryan Omaha Beach-style sequence, an Oreo cookie left with his white stuffing exposed.
James Franco, Jonah Hill, Kristin Wiig, Paul Rudd, Michael Cera and Bill Hader join Rogen for this feature-length R-rated computer animation – the first of its kind – which looks to emulate the films of Disney/Pixar and DreamWorks (in style if not tone).
The Superbad and Pineapple Express co-writers boast a back catalogue of enjoyably crass stoner comedies, and we’re fully expecting more of the same from this processed food-based caper. Check out the trailer above and let us know what you think @LWLies

Ho-ho-hell no. This seasonal caper starring Seth Rogen is about as funny as Christmas cracker gag.
LWLies reports from the beguiling Bay Area basecamp of one of the world titans of feature animation.
Amy Schumer and Judd Apatow fail to marry their unique comic stylings in this disappointingly conventional rom-com.
