The original theatrical poster for Ridley Scott’s game-changing sci-fi horror is one of the greatest works of film art ever produced. With its ominously suspended, green-yellow gas-spewing egg and chillingly effective tagline (‘In space no one can hear you scream’), Steve Frankfurt and Philip Gips’ now iconic image ushered in a new era for movie poster design.
But while this instantly recognisable artwork remains synonymous with Scott’s directorial breakthrough, it was not the only poster created for the film. Here, we’ve collected some of the weird, wonderful and downright insane Alien posters from around the world – with a couple of Aliens posters thrown in for good measure.
