The original theatrical poster for Ridley Scott’s game-changing sci-fi horror is one of the greatest works of film art ever produced. With its ominously suspended, green-yellow gas-spewing egg and chillingly effective tagline (‘In space no one can hear you scream’), Steve Frankfurt and Philip Gips’ now iconic image ushered in a new era for movie poster design.
But while this instantly recognisable artwork remains synonymous with Scott’s directorial breakthrough, it was not the only poster created for the film.
